TEN Initiative
The Transparent Education Network (TEN) brought together key individuals and organizations from the Europe and Eurasia region to foster peer to peer collaboration and dialogue and share lessons learned, best practices, challenges, and knowledge/resources relevant for this purpose. The regional network has been strengthened through the TEN website, ongoing communication among TEN partners, the TEN Roundtable, and the consolidation and dissemination of various resources. Specific project activities include:
1) Development of TEN, a regional network of organizations and individuals who are interested in promoting transparency in schools and education systems.
2) Implementation of various youth led activities to raise awareness and promote a better understanding of issues pertaining to corruption in schools, its causes and consequences.
3) Development of codes of conducts and other strategies that foster transparency in schools.
4) Development of youth skills and organizational capacities to promote the use of more transparent education practices in the education systems.
Working With Youth
EDC works with the following organizations to implement project activities with youth:
1) NGO Center (NGOC) in Armenia;
2) YUVA Humanitarian Center (YUVA) in Azerbaijan;
3) Youth Educational Forum (YEF) in Macedonia.
With these organizations, EDC identified and engaged a core group of youth in each country and these groups learn about corruption, discover ways to mitigate the risks of corruption, and develop skills for implementing strategies that promote transparency in schools.
The program activities fall into two categories:
a) Awareness Raising
b) Capacity Building/Development of Codes of Conduct.
